South Tel Aviv is home to a a large community of refugees, asylum seekers and foreign workers. Due to Israeli bureaucracy the community's legal status remains unsettled and many are exposed to the threat of deportation or imprisonment by Israeli authorities. The abandoned mattresses scattering the streets provide silent evidence to the instability of the community in this area and to the many humans arriving in search for a home only to be forced to leave. Illuminating abandoned mattress I found on the streets gives, I hope, visibility, to all those forced to leave in haste. Street art exhibition view.
